چکیده

Ontology Patterns for the semantic web are closest in spirit to software patterns,e.g. [1]. They are, or should be, motivated by design experience, not philosophicaltradition. The software pattern community was launched into prominence as the resultof an effort in "software archeology": digging through existing software, observingand cataloging different solution methods, generalizing and classifying them in asensible framework, and publishing the result. In this talk I will argue for anarcheological and less theoretical approach to ontology patterns, with examples. References1. Gamma, Helm, Johnson, and Vlissides (1995) Design Patterns. Users of information resources leave behind data–based artifacts when they interact with a digital library or other Web–based information space. One process for examining these patterns is bibliomining, or the combination of data warehousing, data mining and bibliometrics to understand connections and patterns b...

The Status of Women in Archeology

Suspecting that this might be the case in archeology as well as in anthropology more generally, our objective was to identify areas in which differences between the sexes might be empirically expressed. Selected observations rega...
