Archeology for Ontology Patterns
نویسنده
چکیده
Ontology Patterns for the semantic web are closest in spirit to software patterns,e.g. [1]. They are, or should be, motivated by design experience, not philosophicaltradition. The software pattern community was launched into prominence as the resultof an effort in "software archeology": digging through existing software, observingand cataloging different solution methods, generalizing and classifying them in asensible framework, and publishing the result. In this talk I will argue for anarcheological and less theoretical approach to ontology patterns, with examples. References1. Gamma, Helm, Johnson, and Vlissides (1995) Design Patterns. متن کاملTypes and Annotations for CIDOC CRM Properties
The CIDOC CRM provides an extensive ontology for describing entities and properties appearing in cultural heritage (CH) documentation, history and archeology. CRM provides some means for describing information about properties (property types, attribute assignment, and "long-cuts") and guidelines for extending the vocabulary. However, these means are far from complete, and in some cases there i...
متن کاملA framework for Internet archeology: Discovering use patterns in digital library and Web-based information resources
Archeologists use artifacts to make statements about occupants of a physical space. Users of information resources leave behind data–based artifacts when they interact with a digital library or other Web–based information space. One process for examining these patterns is bibliomining, or the combination of data warehousing, data mining and bibliometrics to understand connections and patterns b...
متن کاملThe Status of Women in Archeology
Earlier studies, such as those cited in Roger Sanjek's seminal Signs article, clearly show that women anthropologists traditionally tend to have lower status than men. Suspecting that this might be the case in archeology as well as in anthropology more generally, our objective was to identify areas in which differences between the sexes might be empirically expressed. Selected observations rega...

Based on a combination of clinical and pedagogical experience in occupational therapy, which interlinks artistic practices and therapeutic processes, we carried out a historical study designed to investigate how the fields of mental health and art became interrelated in Brazil between the mid 19th and 20th centuries. The methods used for this research, which is underpinned by the thinking of Fo...
